How’dya Like Ya Chowda?

Hot clam chowder on a cool fall afternoon sounds like the ingredients for a popular festival in these parts.  As a matter of fact, the Sixth Annual ChowdaFest serves up three kinds of clam chowder on Saturday, November 8, on the patio behind Fat Tony’s Italian Pub at 131 N. Front Street in downtown Wilmington – and all your friends will be there.

ChowdaFest includes New England, Manhattan, and Down East varieties.  A $5 admission charge includes one cup of your choice, and others may be purchased.

Each of the homemade chowders has its own appeal:  whether it be the creamy New England style, the tomato-based Manhattan, or the local Down East chowder – a delicious brothy version of the New England style.

No festival is complete without music, and ChowdaFest is dishing up bands beginning at noon and playing continuously until sundown.

Last year’s festival brought crowds early, so if you plan to attend, arrive early and play a game of bocce ball.  You might even win a door prize.
